Boxing made its Olympic debut in 1904, and has since been contested in every edition, with the exception of the 1912 Games in Stockholm because Swedish law prohibited the practice of the sport at the time. Women's events were introduced to the Olympic program for the first time in 2012 in London. For the first edition in Saint Louis in 1904, the United States won all possible medals since only Americans participated in the boxing events!
